Provida Hosted Architecture

Provida employs a rack of HP Proliant DL Series servers setup in a Hyper V virtualisation environment. These servers are available to host the Provida web store but can also be used to host Sage CRM, Sage Accpac or other web based software e.g. CloudSuite.

Provida can setup either separate hosted instances for our clients or allocate a whole hosted server. Provida's hosting centre in Newtown, Sydney has separate grid wiring and 2 hours uninterrupted power supply, SAN backup, technical support, failover, in house monitoring, secure access, 24/7 operation.

Provida Hosted Services Support

Most importantly an in-house services support team is on hand 5 days per week to immediately tend to software enhancements and other support requirements. Under the "in-house consulting model" qualified technicians will be on-site at the hosted data centre to perform upgrades, load service packs, back up data, provide training, load data, create "sand box" environments and much more. In fact Provida's whole range of consulting services is available under the in-house consulting model. This services model is more cost effective for clients with a limited budget, since all services (including training) will be provided remotely.

Why Hosting?

Hosting is generally much more cost effective since the software you purchase or rent is installed on our Provida servers instead of yours. This means you don't need to purchase server hardware, you only need the client workstation or iDevice with a good fast internet connection. When you sign a hosting contract, you will be issued with a web address and user access details. Then you can access your ERP, CRM or web store software solution anywhere, anytime. You pay a monthly fee instead of a large upfront amount. That's the cloud for you - sort of sells it self really!

Hosting Fees

Hosting fees are charged monthly, 3 months in advance and start from $200 per month for the hosted web store. Fees apply for the following hosted services:

  • Application (ERP, CRM, web store) hosting
  • Service Level Agreement
  • Backup
  • Dedicated virtual server
  • Application upgrades
  • Application service packs
  • Failover from Sydney server to Brisbane or Melbourne servers

Service Level Agreement (SLA)

Provida can provide an annual SLA payable monthly to cover all service support and helpdesk access. The SLA can be as simple or full service depending on your requirements. 99.8 per cent target service availability is offered with service credits if service levels aren't met.

What Happens If Data is Lost or Compromised?

All data is backed up and Provida has disaster recovery and business continuity contingencies. Clients will be compensated if any data is lost.

Can I Easily Switch Cloud Providers in the Future or Am I Locked In?

No you are not locked in. We use a standard Microsoft Virtualisation environment (Hyper V). The Hyper V image can be transferred to another provider or you can take the data and stop paying the monthly rental fee.

Will there be Latency or Lag?

The speed of hosted software is only as good as your internet connection. Faster internet = faster software!
